I cannot send email from my phone. What is wrong?

When you can receive email, but not send email from your cell phone, you may have to change your set up to use the cellular carrier's outgoing email server. For Alltel, for example, that outgoing server is mail.alltel.net. If you are unsure of your outgoing email server, it is often called smtp.yourdomainname.com. This is fairly typical for pop email accounts.

Most cellular carriers tech support can answer your questions for setting up your email on your cell phone, provided that you have thee right information. Here is how to find out this information if you use Outlook or Outlook Express:

Tap Next. Select the email account you wish to access from your phone. Select Change. You will see the above information here, except your password. Write it down for future use.

Then select More Settings and then click on the tab Outgoing Server. Record any settings from this page. Next click on the tab Advanced. If your Incoming Server port is not 110, then record it. If your Outgoing Server port is not 25, then record it.
